The PTA: It Takes Us All

All parents and guardians of children at John Muir School can participate in the PTA. Every time you attend an event, volunteer in the classroom, or go to a meeting, you are participating in the PTA. You do not have to sign a membership form or pay money to participate. All John Muir parents/guardians are invited to every event.

John Muir PTA Accomplishments, 2004-2005

  • Created Room Parents role to improve parent-teacher and parent-parent communication about events, opportunities, needs
  • Developed monthly Staff Appreciation Lunches
  • Hosted Family Education Nights (Literacy Night, Science Fair and 100's Day)
  • Organized a Halloween Walk-A-Thon (raised over $5,000)
  • Established Finance Committee to work with the principal and staff to identify long-range financial goals and work to fund larger projects like the new Kindergarten play structure
  • Helped teachers, students, and staff do their best by volunteering in classrooms and at events, raising money to support the people and programs that make John Muir a fantastic school, and adding a grand diversity of voices to our community and our children's education.
  • Participated with teachers and staff in the selection of our wonderful new principal Greg John.
